ILC/TRC luminosity performance assessment

چکیده
The Low-Emittance Transport (LET) region of a linear collider includes all of the beamlines between the exit of the main damping ring and the interaction point. Generically, the LET includes the bunch compressor, main linac, and beam delivery sections of the linear collider. The principal luminosity requirements of the LET are: preservation of the small emittances generated by the main damping rings, in order to achieve a small beam spot at the interaction point; minimization of relative beam motion at the IP, to permit the beams to collide. Generically, the obstacles to achieving the requirements are as follows:

متن کاملImplementation of Dynamic Misalignments and Luminosity Stabilization
To fully characterize the luminosity performance of a linear collider, it is important to simulate the effects of ground motion as well as the beam-beam feedback and other stabilization systems planned to compensate for that motion. The linear collider simulation codes have recently been extended to include both ground motion models and stabilization systems to support the work of the Internati...
متن کاملConversion efficiency and luminosity for gamma-proton colliders based on the LHC-CLIC or LHC-ILC QCD Explorer scheme
Gamma-proton collisions allow unprecedented investigations of the low x and high Q2 regions in quantum chromodynamics. In this paper, we investigate the luminosity for “ILC”×LHC ( √ sep = 1.3 TeV) and “CLIC”×LHC ( √ sep = 1.45 TeV) based γp colliders. Also we determine the laser properties required for high conversion efficiency.
متن کاملData-Driven Two-Dimensional LQG Benchmark Based Performance Assessment for Batch Processes under ILC
A novel data-driven control performance assessment (CPA) method is proposed for batch processes controlled by iterative learning control (ILC) based on two-dimensional linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) benchmark. Previous studies on CPA for ILC are based on an assumption that the model of the controlled batch process is known, whereas this study proposes a model-free CPA method. Based on the two-...
متن کاملTevatron Instrumentation: Boosting Collider Performance
The Tevatron in Collider Run II (2001-present) is operating with six times more bunches, many times higher beam intensities and luminosities than in Run I (1992-1995). Beam diagnostics were crucial for the machine start-up and the never-ending luminosity upgrade campaign. We present the overall picture of the Tevatron diagnostics development for Run II, outline machine needs for new instrumenta...
